FASTING AFTER WLS?
Good morning,
It will be important for you to get all your protein and vitamins post op to feed your body for proper weight loss and health.
If God calls you to a fast-it will be reasonable, and you will know at the time. My church goes on a food fast every year from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday morning. At 7 month post-op, I didn't feel lead to participate in that fast. Maybe this year, I'll be ok. God gave you wisdom.
Instead of fasting, maybe you could go on a prayer vigil and spend x amount of hours in prayer.
Be blessed
Hi TI R, Kweli gave you some great advice and insight. I am like you also. Fasting does not only include food. Fasting from our favorite pass time is an excellent way to show God we are humble to Him. TV, computer, golf, any thing that we spend a great deal of time participating in. The main thing is, God knows our heart! Have a blessed day! Randall
Hello, Tracy,
My name is Butterfly Beauty. I am a spirit filled born-again believer. I lived a fasted lifestyle before my weightloss surgery. Since surgery I have not fasted. It is hard enough to get in all the protein, water, and vitamins, I am suppose to.
Recently, the Father has been speaking to my heart about implementing fasting back into my walk with him. You may want to try, fasting and just drinking your protein shakes and water. Protein shakes, juice and water.
The other posters were correct also. Going without Television, favorite activity, or other things can be considered a fast.
I had a friend who fasted talking on her cell phone.
I hope this post helps. God Bless!

In lieu of fasting, I just bring myself down to earlier stage post-op regimin... like doing only protein shakes and liquids or pureed foods. It keeps my protein and intake up, but I'm giving what I need to from my heart. I think it's just as difficult and giving as a real 'fast' from food. Take care, Katie
