OT: accidental shooting...need prayer warriors
Hi all, I am so saddened by this accident. My pastor's son in law accidently shot himself in the gut last week.
He is on full life support and not responding to antibiotics. He has developed pneumonia and other life threatening infections in his lungs.
This is such a tragic event. It is affecting us all as a church family along with his own family. We are in a small community.
The week before this happened, his younger brother, 28, was found dead in his apartment from complications from diabetes. He was buried only 3 days before the accident.
Our pastor was up north of Phoenix when he recieved the call from his daughter that this occured. He was in the hospital with his mother who had just suffered a massive heart attack.
We know as christians how satan attacks us. This will not bring us down or turn our eyes from God. Only make us stronger.
But, this family needs our prayers for healing and comfort.
Steves wife Vida is not doing well emotionally. He also has 2 very young children that need him.
Please take the time to interceed for us. I believe that God answers prayers. I believe in miracles. God bless, Laury
Hi Laury. I'm in agreement with you! This gives me "Holy Ghost" chill bumps. I'm praying for you all. The Church, Your Pastor, this son-in-law, and his family. God is moved by our faith. I know too how satan works and if we stand tall like a "Palm Tree" in our faith, we will not be wavered. When a palm tree is in a hurricane or storm, it may bend and even touch the ground, but after that storm is over, it bounces right back up and stands as if it was NEVER in the storm to begin with. God is faithful and just! I'm praying! God bless!! Randall
Thank you all for your prayers. Here is an update. Steve is still on life support and in a medically induced coma. He hasn't improved. They brought in a new round of doctors including specialists. They took him off all the antibiotics for a couple of days because they feared they were masking the results of the cultures. At least one of the cultures came back positive. I believe he has a type of staff. Also, has ARDs. (adult respiratory distress)
The doctors say that every minute he survives is a plus for him. I believe God can preform a miracle. I believe it is possible for him to recover. But, if it is God's will that Steven doesn't make it and God calls him home, He is STILL GOD!!!! We don't understand His will. We only know that it is perfect. I pray that Gods will be done. Our pastor was here this morning and his sermon was so moving. God is good. I will trust in Him. Amen, and amen... God bless, Laury
Laury Dear~
I'm terribly sorry to hear your tradgic story. Such an awfully, painful and sorrow filled thing to have to deal with. You and your church family are in my thoughts, on my heart and in my prayers. I lived through something similiar and it becomes a "life issue", meaning, it goes with you everywhere, everyday from now on. It becomes a part of who you are.
I never like to assume anything when it comes to salvation. Eventhough he is the Pastor's son-in-law, is he born again? Does he have assurance?
Please forgive me for being so bold and know that my question comes from a burden of love.
Keep us all updated and thank you for doing so recently.
Sally
