Thank you all for keeping me your prayers. I give GOD All the Glory for my recovery and the wonderful Dr. who has given me this opportunity for a new beginning. My surgery was on 6/13/05. I was re-admitted to the hospital on 6/18/05 for 3 days because of extreme dehydration. I am now home and recuperating. After many test, I learned the upper GI results were were all in working order. There were no blockages or infections. My Dr, explained the Vagus nerve may become irritated and will cause pain. This in turn causes pain when drinking or eating. the dehydaration came from my inabiltity to drink liquids due to the pain. I am now taking pain medication in order to eat and drink. I pray I will be off it soon. I was an insulin resistant diabetic with several co- morbids but God is an Awsome God. My need for insulin has diminished to the point where I only use 1 unit per hr. from my insulin pump. Prior the surgery I required over 200 hundred units of insulin in 24 hrs. I had been told my pancreas would probably never work again because of damage to it from surgery over 30 years ago. This God I know Can deliver us from any thing, and all I can do is praise and thank him every waking hour. Thank you again for your prayers. Terri E.
