I am new to the board...
Hi Brothers and Sisters:
I am new to the Christianity Board. My surgery date is Tuesday, June 7, 2005 with Dr. Randall baker of the MMPC in Grand Rapids. I did not know this board existed and I am really glad that there is a board specifically for Christians to support each other on.
Please pray for me and my family. My wife is a wonderful Godly woman who is completely supportive and loving. My 72 year old Mother who is also a Godly woman is very afraid of the surgery. Mom has lost her youngest daughter & a grandchild in a tragic accident. I was extremely close to Lori and even though that was over a decade ago I still feel her loss like a sharp knife piercing my heart. The anniversary of Lori's death is June 10, 1992. I know Mom still hurts deeply. Also, Dad died in January of 2000 of a brain aneurysm. I am my Mom's main caregiver and I help support her financially. Mom is positive that I am not going to make it through the surgery and her only comment is that she wants to be able to look into my eyes after surgery. My wife and I love my Mom dearly, but I must confess that it is draining on me emotionally.
Please pray for my Mom and ask God to give me wisdom in using the right words to bring her comfort about my decision concerning WLS.
Thank you everyone.
Gary
Morning my Brother. You, your wife and Mother are all in my prayers. I know that God is able to give your mom the peace that she needs. Peace that the world can't give, only God can! Have a great and blessed day! Randall
I Said a Prayer For You Today! I said a prayer for you today, and know God must have heard, I felt the answer in my heart, although He spoke no word, I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures of, a more loving lasting kind, I asked Him to send you blessings at the start of your new day, To grant you love and health, and to guide the surgeon's way, I asked for you to recover fast, and to become thin and small, But it was for His loving care, I prayed for most of all!
Hi Gary...
I am so thankful for this board also. It's quiet, but focused and I know I can get the answers and prayers I need. I usually just lurk and read, but sometimes I get excited and post.
I am praying for you and your mother. Fear comes from the unknown. And once she sees how the Lord blesses you thru this procedure, she will be bragging to everyone she knows!
Be strong and take comfort. God delights in you!
Peggy
