Im new here,,,,

but having surgery in September, looking for some support. I have been praying about this surgery since January of this year, everything has gone so quickly I am amazed. The only reason I have to wait is that my insurance has a pre existing condition clause in it, so I wont be able to have it till September. I have been approved though, so I am excited. Im a 58 year old grandmother, married to a minister. I want to be able to be a help to him, and be around for a long time to enjoy the blessings of the Lord with my family. I dont have any real co morbities, in pretty good health, but Iknow without the surgery, it wont stay that way for long. I have some edema in my ankles, and joint pain. Looking forward to that clearing up. I love this site, its so informative and the people are so caring..looking for some new friends!!

Hi Betsy...I am also new here. I had my first consult on Monday and hoping the doctor will be willing to take me on. He is concerned about the risks...I will not be able to have laposcopic because of previous surgeries (21 to date) so I am praying for a speedy answer from him. I am 55 and a Nana to 3 little boys and one little girl. What a blessing they are to me. I have a wonderful church family and I am active in the choir and women's bible studies...God has been very good to me in my lifetime, I have three healthy grown children and a new husband who is very good to me also. Your wait til September will go by in no time....start looking at new size clothes and just think, you will be in them very soon and will start having more energy. God Bless, Betsy

Welcome Betsy! I'm fairly new here myself. I'm a 2 weeker... I've been to 'intake' and nutrionist (initial visit that is). I'll turn 40 this summer. I have my first grandchildren on the way in June, Elijah David and Sabrina Kelsey... both son's gotta always do things together. haha I also have 3 daughters still @ home. I have a new church family & in ALL my years never found a church family as close to the 'Real thing' as I have here. Hi Betsy, My name is Penny, I also new here. I am 38 and married to a Terrific man, standing and supporting my through my trials, tribulations and now onto the surgery. I have over 5 so called co-morbities. As you, I had my first visit with Surgeon in January and poof, it has happened so quickly. Scheldued surgery date is for June 29th. Welcome to all of you. I think you will find plenty of support and make lots of friends here. You will find that having this surgery will open doors to life that you never thought you would get to walk through. Thanks for the welcomes everyone, its great to make new friends. Funny how the Lord makes that happen, eh? I am so excited about the surgery, but Im stressed right now about my weight, I have been on some kind of diet for the last year,,at least maintaining,,now it seems cause I know the surgery is coming up, I am eating everything, and I have gained about ten pounds. The inches have added up, and now my clothes dont fit. I am so out of control. Say a prayer for me that I can get a handle on this, I dont want to gain any more. I cried all day Tuesday because I am so out of control and depressed about it. I dont leave the house much except to go to church or the grocery, because I am embarrassed. I usually am a very outgoing involved person, but lately I have become quite the introvert. I am going to start counting calories I think, so pray for me, that I get motivated and dedicated to do that. I just want to get back into my clothes. Anyone else expereince this when you found out you were approved for the surgery? Its like someone opened the gate and said,,,EAT!!
