Eucharist??

Anyone post op the can tell me when they were able to receive the communion and wine at Mass? Since I am Catholic I feel bad I will be missing out on Sundays for a while. My priest is planning to visit me in the hospital but I am sure I wont be able to partake in communion. Thanks, Elaine

Of course you will ask your doc but I have seen this topic discussed previously and everyone was fine with taking communion. I am not Catholic but have taken communion numerous times and once early on and I have not had any problems. I guess the Lord protects us because He sees our hearts and knows we want to give Him honor. Best of everything to you.

Hi Elaine, I had a leak after surgery and could not put anything in my mouth while the leak healed. I was told by my pastor to touch the bread and wine to my lips and gave thanks.
