I know this has nothing to do with OH forum, but I need my christian brothers and sisters to pray for my step daughter. Her name is Amber and she is 15. She has tried suicide in the past and cutting herself in the past. She has been going to a counsler and psyciatrist. She is on meds for depression. Well, I found my razor all torn up and the blades missing. I went thru everything in her room and found them with gause and band aids. I also took anything and everything I thought she might be able to use to cut herself. She does have an appt with her psyciatrist tonight. Please keep her in your prayers. Corinn

Bless your heart and bless Amber's little troubled soul. My husband I will commit the whole thing to prayer tonight. I'm gonna' save your posting and check back to see how things are going. Does your profile allow emails? I'd like to keep in touch. "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God." 1 Cor. 2:12 "And he said unto, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." 1 Cor. 1:3 I pray that Amber begins to see herself as God sees her, a treasure worth dying for. Love, Sally

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Sally. Yes, you can email me from my profile. Amber had an appt with her psyciatrist last night and when she came home she was kind of withdrawn. My husband went with her. And he said that she showed the Dr. what she'd done to her arm. I guess this is the first step. We are going to sit down with our Pastor after church on Sunday. Thanx again for everything. Corinn

Hi Corinn. Amber is in my prayers. I have a niece named Amber that is going through some troubled times right now and I will lift both of them up. I break this hold the devil thinks he has on your Amber right now. I command this spirit of suicide to break it's hold on her and bind the devil from coming against her mind. Father God right now in the name of Jesus your son, I ask that you do this and to let Amber know that she is your child. Your creation and that you love her! Wrap your arms of love and compassion around her right now Father. I pray for her mind. That you guard her, protect her. Bring deliverance to her mind in the name of Jesus right now. Thank you God for answering these prayers. Amen

Thank you Randall, I read your daily posts and enjoy seeing the encouragement that you give eryone through God's words. Thank you for your prayers for Amber. She did go to the Drs and showed him what she'd done. I also told her that I found the razor blades. We had a talk and cried. We are going to sit down with our Pastor after church Sunday. I will let everyone know how Amber is progressing. Thanx again, Corinn

Hey Corinn this is Chris. Was just looking at the Virginia board and saw your post. I can identify, my son Zach (19) went through the same thing 2 years ago while he was living with his father. I had to fly up to PA when he was in a Psychiatric hospital for a week. It hurt to see his arms cut up so badly, and he did try to kill himself (tried to drink bleach). It was a long process of therapy and meds. I myself was against the meds as a solution. He came to VA for a month and found Christ while on a trip with my Church youth group. He still had some difficulties though, mostly with his father and step-mom. Last April he weened himself off the meds and came to live with me. He has not cut himself in over a year. I did alot of reseach on the subject and generally with kids their age, it is a "group" type thing. They hang together and cut, usually the acceptance comes from a "looked up to person" in the group. Maybe Zach could get together and talk to your step daughter. He is at work now, but I could talk to him about it when he gets home. He really likes to help others with their problems, so I don't think he would be against it. Maybe they could even IM each other on the internet if she likes to do that sort of thing. Let me know, I am off work today (Friday), and am also off Monday. Praying for you, Chris

Hi Chris, Amber got baptised a couple months ago. I really thought she had that demond behind her. She is currently seeing a psyciatrist and psycologist. Her psycologist wants to see her every week to talk. I don't know how she would feel about meeting up with a someone she doesn't know. Thanx for offering. Maybe when the freshness of the incident is over I will bring it up to her. I am kinda off too. I only ahve one child today and we are fixin to go do errands. God Bless you Chris, Corinn
