I want to encourage you...

Hi Everyone, I am writing this post at the urging of the nurse at my doctors office, to encourage others. I want to start by saying that I am in no way bragging. I give all the glory to God and my Lord and savior Jesus. He is the one who made all this possible. I am 4 months post-op and I am down 70 pounds. I started at 251 and now weigh 181. This has opened so many doors for me to go after the things that were only dreams. I will be going on my first missions trip to Nigeria Africa in May or June. It has been a longing in my heart since I was a child to do missions work in Africa. I am also, Lord willing, looking into becoming a reserve sheriff's deputy in my county. I have always wanted to pursue a career in law enforcement but I was always too heavy. My long term goal there is to become a full time deputy and eventually a detective in their sex crimes unit. I want to help women who have been through the trauma of rape. I know to the average person this may all seem like nothing. But those of you who have been heavy all or most of your lives understand what huge accomplishments are being made in my life. If you are just considering the surgery, awaiting your surgery date, or newly post-op, I want to encourage you. You will not regret it in the end. This surgery can open doors and allow dreams to become reality. To God be the glory, Sherri
