Man it hurts much worse than I expected! I am on codine/tylenol every four hours. I usually tolerate pain far better than this. Please let me know when you were off the pain meds. and feeling close to normal..... I have people who want to visit. I really just want to be left alone. My experience with the nursing staff was horrid!!!! Tell ya'll later. Check back in on Wednesday or Thursday. Tah tah 4 now. Lots of Love and thanks everyone. Sally Colgan

Hi Sally, I'm sorry you are experiencing so much pain. I haven't had the surgery yet, so I don't have any words of wisdom to offer. I just wanted you to know that I will be praying for you to have some peaceful and painfree rest. Hang in there, I hear everyone say it gets better and better each day. Denise

Sally, I was on the pain meds for about a week. Each day the pain would get a little bit less. It might be awhile before you feel close to normal. For each person the experience is a little different. Hang in there sweetie. Blessings Geri

Sally, call you doctor and ask for something stronger for pain. Tell the doctor that you aren't getting adequate pain relief. Tylenol with codeine is not very strong and as a nurse, I can tell you it isn't enough for post surgical pain. I had Lortab elixir and it worked great. I am a real pain weenie and I had good relief with the Lortab. You shouldn't have to suffer. Sherri

Sherri~ Thanks for the advice/information. I'll leave a message tonite on the voice mail. Lortab has helped in other situations for me, I wished I had known it came in an elixir form. How is that on the tummy, (the cod/tylen burns something awful)? You are an "Angel of Mercy". God Bless Yo' Little Pea Pickin' Heart Sally

Sally, I was off my pain meds before leaving the hospital. But I had alot of soreness (not actual pain). My surgeon put me on Percoset, which I only took about twice at home. The Percoset is okay for your tummy. Hope this helps! *~Amber~*

The lortab elixir went down fine with me. I had to sip it in little tiny sips, but then that is how I had to drink everything. It was really good pain relief. I have a low pain threshold and I was perfectly comfortable. Let me know how you are doing. Sherri
