Feeling kind of Blah..
Hi Friends,
I am almost 3 weeks Post-op and I've noticed I'm feeling kind of irritable.I am back to work am feeling tired. My house is a pit and I can't seem to get much help cleaning up.I know we are a busy family but I can only keep up w/ so much.I feel some nausea..normal? I am down a total of 23 lbs as of meeting w/ dietician yesterday.I don't know--maybe I'm feeling a little blue. Please pray that my energy level wil come back soon.I'm not used to not being active. Thanks for prayers.Shelley
Hi Shelley. Congratulations first of all on the -23 lbs. That's great! Your energy level will pick up! You are still early post-op! You need to solicit the help of your family members to help you clean. You shouldn't be doing it by your self. You are in my prayers. After surgery, some people go through depression. They say this is normal, but I say it's not. I am praying for you. You don't have to be blue. The joy of the Lord is your strength! Have a great and blessed day! Randall
Hi Shelley, Congratulations on your weight loss. I went through feelings of depression after having my surgery also. The doctor said that is quite normal. I heard it is fat coming out of your hormones or something like that. Also food was always a comfort to me. When taken away I felt like I had lost a good friend. Also just being tired can make you kinda cranky which in turn can just make you feel kind of blah. Remember your body has just gone through something very major. It might take a few months to get back to normal, and even then you might still have some times of depression. Hey I hear you about the house. Try not to over do it or you might end up back in the hospital. It does get better and these memories will soon be forgotten. Talk to you later Shelly
Blessings

Hey Shelley,
Congrats on 23 lbs down! Don't be too hard on yourself or your family right now. You are back to work after only 3 weeks after having MAJOR surgery - that in itself is going to make you really tired. So your house is a pit - life will go on, and in another month or 2 you will feel better and your house is going to be cleaner than it has been in years - at least that's what happened to me. Once your energy comes back it will be back like you won't believe! Until then be kind to yourself and cut those around you some slack. I was incrediably cranky for quite awhile - bless my husband's heart for being patient with me! Let things slide, you're not going to back on top of everything and at 100% for awhile, and you know what - it doesn't matter. It's hard to look around at a messy house and things undone when you don't feel good in the first place, but try to turn a blind eye to those things and rest, rest, rest, drink your liquids and spend what energy you have doing excersize you enjoy. Pamper yourself, and keep reminding yourself you JUST WENT THRU MAJOR SURGERY and it will take awhile to recover. I know I didn't feel back to 'normal' until about 3 months out. Then I turned a corner and felt great.
I'll be praying for you, and I'm sure you're going to do great.
Pam
