Ok... I had my surgery on June 25th. I saw my doctor about 3 weeks later (July 12th) and lost 22.2 lbs. It has now been 4 weeks and 3 days...and I am down 32 lbs. Please visit my profile! Anyhoot...my question is with protein. I know we are to get 40 to 60 grams daily. As few carbs as possible. So...when can I have a turkey sandwich with extra mayo? I have been craving it big time!!! Should we eat more protein? When can we move on to veggies and fruit (I have had watermelon )? Anyone else discharged with the "EAT ONLY...eggs, cheese and meat?" If you are one..what else do you eat? How do you eat the meat to the right consistancy? Share your secrets!! Help!!! Looking forward to the !!!

Hi, I just now read this, so I hope it is not to late. I can't remember when I moved on to veggies or fruit, but I think I was eating it by this time. Every doctor is different and they all have different times when to start on each phase. I was told to have 90 grams of protein. My doctor told me to only watch my surgar amounts. I remember asking him to what consistency should I get my food before swallowing it and he said when it can go in between your teeth. Almost the consistency of pureed food. It was kind of gross to chew it up so much, so I stuck to things like yougart, cottage cheese, soups, sugar free fat free fudgecycle's, sugar free popsicals. I didn't eat bread of any kind for many months out. It felt to gross on my stomach. Had mashed potatoes, carrotts,. I do remember putting a little mayo on my meat. Made it much more tasty. Watermelon was my first fruit and I loved it so much. It's kinda trial and error on which things you'll be able to eat. I just hated chewing my food so much. Anyway I hope this helps and may our Lord bless you on this special journey. Geri
