I have a question...
Any tips from you post-op folks on what might be handy to have at the hospital? (Aside from toothbrush, undies, and that sort of thing.) Of course, my Bible and Christian magazines are on the top of my list. My hubby is going to bring up our portable DVD player and movies each afternoon. I will also have my selection of favorite Christian CDs. Anything that anyone else found particularly helpful?
Thank you my sisters,
Sherri
So, we are becoming losers together! Are you totally excited about your surgery? I know I am. I will be praying for you.
So far the replies I have gotten have been great. I also posted this question on the California site. Two things mentioned that I probably would have forgotten was chapstick (which I normally have on me all the time) and ear plugs.
God bless you, Kim.
In His love,

I'm scheduled for surgery on June 29. I'll be adding chapstick to the list because our water intake will be in the form of ice chips. My doctor recommended a robe because we'll need to walk the halls a bit before being discharged. There are also several postings on this website about what to bring as well.

You know I took my Bible, great worship CDs, good book to read and I did none of them! I listened to my Michael W. Smith Freedom CD the first night in my room and that was the only time I listened. Don't know why but I was concentrated on walking, using my pain pump, and getting out of the hospital and home! Slippers, make sure they are a sure footed one or take your tennies with you. I was afraid I would fall while walking. I bought some panti liners for added security. Took a nightgown. Body lotion, I used a lot of that. Chapstick. I never even watched TV! I have to say between the sleeping and the walking I was quite busy doing nothing! I knew I was covered in prayer from others and I just kept thanking the Lord that it was over and I was on my way!
Blessings to you...
Peggy
Well I will have to say that there was a lot of stuff that I took that I didn't need. Here is what I did use, PJ's - several pairs as there were leaks. Houseshoes they are a must for walking and when leaving the hospital. I didn't read at all and I had my bible and some other books. I did listen to my Cindy Black CD for it helped me sleep. I have to agree with the lady that said between walking and sleeping I didn't do a whole lot either. Take care and know that you are being prayed for Sherri.

Sherri,
Honestly , I did not have time to listen to anything - or even watch any Tv ... I was so out of it and in between walking and drinking my CIB .. I just prayed a lot . Talked to God and slept .
And yes - chapstick is a plus .. I could not have survived with out it .
Well as you know you will be in my prayers ... Keep me posted !
God is an Awesome GOD !
Love,
Natalie
