Hi! I am hoping to have this surgery (RNY) done soon, but, at my consult with the surgeon, I was told that my BMI wasn't high enough (I've never been told that, before ). Anyway, it'll take at least another eight weeks and I'm starting to wonder if maybe I didn't hear God correctly. I prayed, I asked and I trusted. Now, I'm doubting . If anyone has a word for me, I'd appreciate it. I was certain that this was His will for me (to have life and to have it to the fullest), but maybe this isn't the route for me. I have 3 little girls at home who need a mommy who is an example to them of trust and of stewardship. I'm afraid that I haven't been a good steward of the temple I've been given. Now, maybe I'm supposed to do something else. Anyone else been here? Any scriptures would be soooooo appreciated! Angie

Hello Angie, I felt the same way as you waiting for my surgery approval. It was a decision I had prayed about and had given over to God for his will to be done. But when the insurance struggle took 8 months, I too began to doubt that it was His will since the door kept closing. However, do not be deceived by the Devil. He will put doubts into your mind especially when you have committed this to the Lord, and he is also capable of closing the doors to put a wedge in your faith. Trust in God's timing...it is perfect timing. God knows your desire to improve your life for your children and for yourself. It is not a selfish or a vain desire. All good things are from God and he will hear all of our good desires. Praying for you Lisa Gilbert

Hi Angie: Here are some scriptures I want you to mediatate on daily: 3 John 1:2 says, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth" Mark 11:24 says, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. " Psalm 40: 1-5 says, "I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee" Keep believing God and waiting patiently on the Lord. Knowing as you wait your strenth (encouragement) shall be renew and you will take on the wings of an eagle and fly!! Amen. Rev. S. Rev. Davis -- Thank you for those scriptures. I will meditate on them, often. I'm glad you listed the book and chapter and verse because my bible isn't the KJV and those words sound all different - but, that's cool, because I have to actually READ them in my translation and commit them to memory! I have 3 little children and so, finding the time to read anything besides a postcard is a bit of a challenge. This is a good incentive to do it. Angie

Angie, I know that in my life I have come short of what God has wanted from me. I know that satan would love for me to second guess every move I make in hope that I would make no move at all. Know this...Fear is not of the Lord our God. I think that the fact that you pray and you are wanting nothing more than to be in God's perfect will for your life shows your children that you are a good steward of God's will. I have some scriptures for you to keep in mind. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him. Lamentations 3:25 This is what the Lord says to the house of Israel: "Seek me and live." Amos 5:4 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for you Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom." Luke 12:32 This one in particular is awesome to me...if he will be please to give us the kingdom...he would not hesitate to give us the small things. I will be in prayer for you Angie, I will always be available for you if you need me you can send me e-mail. I tell myself this every morning as I start my day...maybe it will help you too... I cast my cares upon you, For you care for me. Your eye is on the sparrow, And I know that you are watching. Though the lion rages, I will have no fear. For God you in control, My life is in your care. I hope that these words help you. If they do and you go to share them with someone else. Don't tell them that these are words that I shared with you...give God the praise and the glory because he sent them to me. Now go my sister and be about your Father's business. God Bless you and your family, Shannon
