Don't carry your burdens alone
Don't deprive your fellow Christains of the opportunity to help bear your burdens. As Christians we are to be there for our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. It can be a blessing for both of us, we get to share the problem which thereby lessens the load for the person suffering. It is sometimes difficult and I don't always know what to say but the Lord always guides me. It is an honor to be able to be there with someone suffering. Let's make a point to be available for those who need a shoulder to cry on or a strong arm to hold them up. God bless! Karen
This is a good topic for me tonight. I meet some people in AA who have been through the wringer. I made friends with a young lady, my daughter's age, *****lapsed last week, and was raped on a date. She was drunk and picked up a guy at a bar. When we got to talking tonight, I shared with her that I had been molested, and she told me that her brothers molested her all throughout her childhood. Her parents passed away in the last year, and she is all alone, single mother, trying to get sober again.
Then, at tonight's meeting, I was talking to a woman whose daughter was murdered a little over two months ago. Her daughter had worked at the doggy daycamp I take my dog to. The daughter had relapsed on alcohol and drugs, and was murdered in the worst neighborhood in Philadelphia, where drugs are available on every corner. I spent about 20 minutes talking to her, because she is struggling to get sober, the pain of her daughter's death is just too unbearable. I told her that it's okay to cry, and she is supposed to grieve right now. I also gave her my number and told her to call me anytime she needs to talk. I have seen her at meetings before. I also suggested to might want to consider looking into inpatient treatment, and told her where she might be able to get help paying for it, since she does not have insurance.
These are the reasons I go to AA, and not just a Christian organization for my recovery. I can love people who are hurting, and pray for them, and pray for the opportunity to show them the source of my love, Jesus.
Hugs,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Maybe this is why God allowed you go go thru such difficult times earlier in your life, so you could truely have the love and empathy to minister to these poor souls who are at the end of their rope. You can honestly say I've been there and came thru and so can you. I'm sure you are a big blessing to them!
You're so welcome for the goodies, I love doing things like that and couldn't resist making Utley a sweater too. Notice the Steeler colors! I paid attention!

We are to "bear one another's burdens" and it IS truly a privilege . Why then is it swo difficult to be the one asking?...is it pride?...----Man, I have a lot of work to do on myself. "Putting on this new man" sure is taking me a long time...(kinda like sqeezing into a girdle that is three sizes too small)
Blessings!

You have a way with words. I love the girdle simile!
Pride maybe, and independence. Maybe its is a part of the old man, too.
I think I sometimes feel that my my problems would be too little to ask for help, although they feel so big to me.
