Doing a little better

Thank you all for your prayers.  Today was a much better day than yesterday.  In spite of a really bad freezing rain storm, which was on top of an inch of snow, I got up early and took my dog to daycamp for the day, because I did not want to walk him on the ice.  I then went to the pain specialist and got some ideas for temporary relief from the chronic pain.  After going to the pharmacy, I came home and made a big pot of homemade turkey noodle soup for our homeless ministry.  My church is one of four churches that bring the homeless in from the cold on bad nights, and feeds them a hot meal before they go to bed.  We have a freezer that church members fill with homemade soup.  My sister had given me a turkey yesterday, and I roasted it yesterday, and made some soup today.  I also cleaned my living room, and vaccuumed it.  Finally, I picked up my dog from camp, and am getting ready to head to an AA meeting around the corner from my apartment.  I can walk to it.

Long story short, I am doing better than the past few days.  My pain is lessened, thanks to the pain specialist's nurse.  Also, helping the homeless with cooking, one of my favorite activities, helps me a great deal.

Thanks for praying.

Hugs,
Trish
Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

I'm very proud of you! You grabbed the bull by the horns and went out there and did something. Sometimes just physically moving helps (hard I know when you hurt), you reached out to help people less fortunate.
That always helps me to get out of my own little zone. So glad you're doing better today!
