I posted this to Main Forum and VSG forum, so if you saw it there, sorry.  Just wanted to make sure it get exposure to you folks for sure.   I am hoping to have wls and gallbladder removed at the same time.  What is more, I want to have it done the middle of March so my sister can stay with me a week. ( She is a school nurse and will probably be with me on her spring break anyway) From what I've learned here, I will really be blessed to have everything in place and able to have surgery by my target date.

Who knows, the surgeon may have a different date in mind.  I have a psych eval Feb 17, and nutrition counseling in the next couple of weeks.  A friend of mine, has the same insurance/works for the same employer as my husband, did not have to do a  3 or 6 month pre-op diet.    Just a good history of his weight loss attempts.  However, that was 2 years ago. I don't think we have changed insurances or coverages since then, other than to include the VSG starting November 18, 2010.

I already have:

medical records showing obesity  for 5 years
history of weight loss attempts, some supervised by doctors, for the past 30+ years
tests in last 2 months, stress test, EKG, ultrasound on abdomen, egd, and breathing test.
a letter from my PCP recommending me for wls surgery
the support and a letter if needed, from my GI doctor

My main concern is that the surgeon will not want to do the gallbladder at the same time.  So, please pray that  the doctor  will be willing to do it, if it is appropriate

Wow looks like you've got all your ducks in a row!  The only other test I had was a colonoscopy but they did my egd and that at the same time. It's hard telling if they will do both procedures at once since some docs fear contamination from the GB but it would make sense to do it at the same time. I'm sure we'll all be praying for you! Best of luck and hope all goes the way you wi**** to!
