How do you feel when folks praise you for something you've done? Are you like me and find it embarassing? God says we should do our good deeds and prayer in private. I find most Christians I know don't want the accolades and praises for what they do, it's the non Christians that want to make sure they get the credit and back slapping. Like I said myself I find it embarassing and want to run and hide from the attention. Every Christmas I try to think of or find someone who could use some help and send them some cash to help them out, but I always make sure they can't trace it back to me. This way hopefully they will think of it as a true blessing because God is the only one they can thank. So remember to do your kindness without expecting praise but do it just because it's what God wants us to do.

Just want to give you a little warning, if I suddenly disappear I may have gone to the hospital. I think my gall bladder is going bad, I have an appt. with the doc tomorrow. So don't know if he'll send me straight to get it out or if he'll send me to a specialist. Anyhoo if I disappear, I'll be back for sure. Blessings all. Karen

I had a hard time when I was younger.  I wanted to be noticed, and praised, because it was sorely lacking in my childhood.  So, as a young adult, I sought praise from friends and others.  Now, with some maturity, and a little bit of humility, I am embarassed to get compliments on things that I do, because I don't do anything without God's strength, or prompting.

I hope you do not need your gall bladder out, but I sure hope you get some resolution to your discomfort.

Hugs and prayers,
Trish
Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Thanks hon! I also think with age comes wisdom and that most younger folks seek praise and "atta boys". Sorry that was lacking in your younger years because it definately makes a difference in how you feel about yourself and how you see the world around you. I think you are a remarkable person for having let the Lord help you accomplish so much in getting grounded in your life. You've had so many obstacles to overcome! You are a special woman!

Thanks Karen,
My relationship with the Lord has not always been stable.  I have been fickle and not always walked as I need to, or should have.  Thankfully, I have a friend who has helped me tremendously in changing the way I see God, and how I relate to Him.

Thanks for starting up this board again.  I had forgotten all about it after I got my new computer and lost all my bookmarks.

Hugs,
Trish
