Life Plan Devotion #161 [It's your decision]
Hi, Everyone.
It's a beautiful day here in Kansas. Fall is in the air. This morning, I sat outside, with a blanket around me, and a cup of sugar-free (with protein powder added) hot cocoa, and just enjoyed being in the presence of The Creator. :)
Please pray for those having surgery today and for those recovering from surgery. Pray especially for all who are facing a major decision today.
Life Plan Devotion #161 [It's your decision]
John 6:66-69 [NLT] "At this point many of His disciples turned away and deserted Him. Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, 'Are you also going to leave?' Simon Peter replied, 'Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. We believe, and we know You are the Holy One of God.'"
How sad it must have been for Jesus to watch people turn away from Him, to decide that they could not follow Him after all. It is a poignant, piercing moment when Jesus turns to the 12 disciples and asks, "Are you going to leave Me, too?" It's a moment when the universe holds its breath. It's a moment of decision.
Simon Peter answers Jesus' question with a question, "Where would we go?" and then states what he knows to be true, "You have the words that give eternal life. We believe and know that You are the Holy One of God." That's it; it's settled. No turning back.
What this has to do with weight loss: Jesus is the answer to our every need--including our needs of our weight-loss journey. He alone can deliver us from our food addiction, our complaints of having to eat a certain way or exercise everyday, our need to get weight-loss surgery or recover from it, our need to maintain our better eating habits and weight loss. It is our personal decision, however, to allow Him to be the answer.
Today, does Jesus deserve your total commitment? That is a question only you can answer, a decision only you can make. Listen to present and former members of The Heritage Singers as they sing the old song, "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55eESzdyPoY&feature=related
Blessings,
Mary

Good morning Mary, thanks you for your lesson this morning. I have found myself so much in the face of people who don't believe. But it has just strengthen my my faith all the more. Now what they believe, has been harder, that we just came by a big bang. Now that takes some hopeful thinking. May God continue to bless you, Sandra
Hi, Sandra.
While it can be difficult to work with non-believers, we are called to "always be ready to give an answer concerning the hope that is within you." We live our faith and watch for opportunities to minister to others, when they're ready. Trust me, non-believers watch believers every minute. May we be salt and light to their world. I'm sure you are, my friend. :)
Thank you so much for reading and replying. Have a great day.
Blessings,
Mary
