Life Plan Devotion #160 [Have you left the shore?]
Hi, Everyone.
For those of you following the "romance of the century," Regan arrived from Indiana last evening. Leah and Regan could not stop smiling at each other. He brought a dozen red roses for Leah and a 13th rose for her mother (me). It was very sweet. Dylan was beside himself. He had been sitting on the curb, waiting and watching, for an hour. :)
Please pray for my son, Aaron, diagnosed with swine flu, and grandson Chris (8) who probably has it, as well. Please pray that wife Rebecca and the 3 younger boys (including the 5-mth. old) will stay well. By Jesus' stripes, I declare that they are all healed, in Jesus' Name!
Pray for those having surgery today or recovering from surgery. Have a great day, and remember to keep those germs at bay by washing your hands often.
Life Plan Devotion #160 [Have you left the shore?]
John 6:16-21 [NLT] "That evening Jesus' disciples went down to the shore to wait for Him. But as darkness fell and Jesus still hadn't come back, they got into the boat and headed across the lake toward Capernaum. Soon a gale swept down upon them, and the sea grew very rough. They had rowed about three or four miles when suddenly they saw Jesus walking on the water toward the boat. They were terrified, but He called out to them, 'Don't be afraid, I am here!' Then they were eager to let Him in the boat, and immediately they arrived at their destination!"
It was a dark and stormy night on Lake Galilee. The disciples were cold, wet, and exhausted from rowing almost four hours in storm-tossed waters. They had been impatient and left safe shores without Jesus, but He came to their rescue anyway--walking on the stormy sea toward their boat. When Jesus got in the boat, He brought them safely to shore.
We would be wise to stay with Jesus and His plan for us. Going off on our own will inevitably lead us into some stormy situations. If we do leave Jesus behind, however, He will still rescue us, if we look to Him for help.
What this has to do with weight loss: Weight loss causes many changes, not only in our body but in how others treat us. We may find that we are the recipients of attention from the opposite sex, attention that can lead us into stormy waters. Don't leave your safe shore, without Jesus. Follow the plan He has for you, and you will get to the other side safely.
Today, where are you? Have you gone on your own way? If so, let Jesus bring you back. Listen to Michael W. Smith singing "Draw Me Close." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-RMuVqyzFo&feature=related
Blessings,
Mary

Good morning my friend!! When I came out of my coma and the Dr.'s left me in Rehab to learn to read, write, math, and even said I would never walk again and could be a vegetable, the devil tried to bring fear to my life, but God showed me HIS CARE AND HIS LOVE in this verse in Mark 4:40! How is it that you have NO FAITH in me?! Don't you know that I love you and EVERYTHING is gonna be alright! I'm listening and I'm so glad I am getting safely to the other side! He always takes care............IN EVERY STORM!! I'm staying on my safe shore! My rock! JESUS!
Have a blessed day!

Thanks for the update on the romance. It is so nice to hear that things went well. I am praying for Aaron and the family. We are all declaring a healing in Jesus name. Thanks for the devotion today. It really hit home to me. Also thanks to Randall for sharing his testimony. It reminds me of Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good NIV. God Bless you both.
In Christ
