When I was checking for something on BibleGateway.com tonight, the "verse of the Day" popped up.....it just seemed like something I should share:)

“But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."- 1 Samuel 16:7

Monica thanks for sharing that. I was listening to a Pastor friend of mine CD from last weeks service and he was talking about internal needs, not external. This goes right along with that. We look at the outside only many times and that means external needs also. We know God will meet all our needs but He looks at needs as internal, IE love, acceptance, fitiing in. God looks at emotional and spiritual needs and what our hearts need. We look at external food, clohting, money etc. Great verse. Thanks.

PS still praying for your son and your family. How is he doing?

This is excellent for where I am at these days.  I was in a marriage where outward appearances, education, income, status were very important.  The heart, and a person's character were not as valued as the external.  I praise the Lord that my sons did not adopt this attitude.  Unfortunately, my daughter has it to some extent, including the concerns for legalistic behaviors.

Our Lord is so much more concerned about what is going on in my mind and attitude.  I am grateful for that, because He can see my repentance and my desire.

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.
