Hello everyone!  I am so very happy to have found this board.  I am pre-op still (should have a surgery date soon for August I hope) and I have been looking for a Christian community on OH.

I hope you all don't mind another poster!

God's blessings for each of you.

In Christ,
Monica

Hi, Monica.
Mind? Are you kidding? We welcome you with open arms! While there may not be a lot of traffic here (post wise), if you ever need prayer, etc., this is the place to post. We have some great prayer warriors. Everyone is very kind and helpful. I look forward to hearing more from you.
Blessings,
Mary

Hi and welcome,
This is a safe haven for prayer, fellowship and encouragement.  I hope you will post often.  I try to, but sometimes go AWOL.

Hugs,
Trish

Thanks to you all!  Thought I'd give you a BRIEF intro...

I am 42, the mom of 4 awesome kids, divorced (sadly), a middle school principal, and originally from SC (though I have lived in New Jersey for many years now).

I attend a Methodist church and I am soooo excited and prayerful about my upcoming surgery.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Have a blessed day,
Monica

Monica I have to tell you that this board and God are my best allies as far as my WLS is concerned. The people on this board are such prayer warriors and are so encouragin. It is like being in church, but you do not have to drive. This forum is a God send literally. Welcome and God Bless you, praying for you and hoping to hear from you often.

Hi, Monica.
It's so nice to read more about you. I grew up in Columbia and Charleston, S.C. (mostly Charleston), and we attended the Nazarene church most of those years. Wouldn't it be fun if we met somewhere along the way? :)
Blessings,
Mary

Mary....that's too funny.  I grew up in Greenville but spent ALOT of time in Charleston with my aunts.  One lives in St George and has a beach house on Edisto Island and the other has a beach house on Isle of Palms.  I still get down there every year.  Also, I lived in Columbia just before moving to NJ. I was in grad school at Carolina at the time.

I never went to the Nazarene Church though, so if our paths ever crossed, it might have been at the beach or one of those great seafood houses along Shem Creek :)

Ah, the mystery thickens! My husband and I, and our 4 young children, lived in Simpsonville, SC (a suburb of Greenville, as you know) in the early '80s. My daughter went to a private Christian school (Baptist) there in Greenville. Can't quite remember the name right now, but it will come to me.
I did frequent Folly Beach quite a bit, as a teenager. I was, of course, much thinner then. lol

Southside Christian is in Simpsonville...was that it?  My sister lives in Simpsonville now with her family.  You would be amazed at how much that side of Greenville has grown!
