Hi and a Prayer Request
Hi Everyone,
This is a weird prayer request, but when I explain it, you will understand. I am asking for prayer for good weather and NO RAIN on Sunday. Here's why:
I am putting together a birthday picnic for my granddaughter, who will be arriving in town on Saturday. She turns 2 in June, and will be back in Michigan then. Last year, my daughter planned her birthday party to be a swim party at her great grandmother's, but it poured that weekend. The party was moved into my ex's house. Everything went fine, and I have no ill feelings toward my ex or his wife. The problem is, his wife drinks wine and serves it. I don't care what her drinking habits are at all. I am concerned because I have not been doing too well lately, and only have a little over 60 days without a drink. I am extremely raw and vulnerable right now, and just don't want to see the stuff. Right now, the weather forecast is good. I just need it to stay that way. There can be no alcohol at the picnic because the park where we are holding it forbids alcoholic beverages, and I am the one organizing it. Please pray for this event.
Thanks,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

no can do with an alternative location for free. His mom's would be a possibility, but they serve alcohol also. My family's homes are either too small, or just not feasible. Time for God to show His stuff.

Hi, Trish.
I am happy to agree with you in prayer for no rain on Sunday, during your granddaughter's birthday party. If your ex knows about your journey with sobriety, one would think he and his wife would not want to put you in the position of having to be tempted. Why don't you call and just say that if it rains and the party must be at their house, you would really appreciate it if no alcohol be served. There's no reason to serve that at a child's birthday party, anyway.
If it rains, it won't be God refusing to "show His stuff," it will be God saying, "No temptation has seized you [Trish] except what is common to mankind. And [I, God, am] faithful; [I] will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, [I] will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it" (I Corinthians 10:13). Sometimes the way out is going through. I know you know this.
Blessings & Continued Prayers,
Mary

I'm joining the others in prayer for a beautiful lovely sunny day on Sunday! I've never understood why people would have alcohol at a childs B-day it's just not appropriate. You can do this just keep looking to God and He'll be there holding your hand. Congrats on your 60 days of sobriety you are doing great, keep up the fight! God bless and looking for sunny skies!
Praying for you, with you and about you. God will be their, that is the only thing I am sure of. He is forever faithful. You can resist the enemy in this situation. We here and God have confidence in you through him, because you can do all things through Christ which strengthens you. God bless and I know God will cover you one this one.
