Wrong Diagnosis

Well, earlier this week, I asked for prayer concerning tendonitis in my foot.  Well, the quack who saw me and my X-rays at Easter time was wrong.  I finally got to see my old orthopedist and he showed me on my X-rays where I have a break.  He ordered an MRI, which I had done today, and the radiology girl even saw the break as the MRI was being done.

So, I am asking for prayer as I am still wearing the boot, and see the doc later next week.  I need prayer because if he decides to cast it, I am concerned because I live in a two story townhouse and the bedroom and bathroom are on the second floor.  Not to mention, it is my right foot, and I live alone, so I would then have to depend on others to drive me to my appointments, not to mention work.

I know that God is in control, and He is good.  I just struggle sometimes because I hate not knowing how things are going to work out ahead of time.

Hugs,
Trish

Oh, Trish, I can hardly stand knowing that you've been walking on a broken foot this whole time! My goodness!
You may be surprised how much easier you'll get around with a cast. I've even driven with my left foot. :) God will provide. Even though I know exactly what you mean about wanting to know how things are going to work out ahead of time, it is exactly in the "blind spots" of life that we learn to rest in the Lord, who always has a good plan for us.
Praying for You,
Mary

Thanks for the empathy and love, Mary.  I did some research online about fractures of the particular bone that is broken.  Usually surgery is required for it, so I am really praying and hoping the Lord grants my doc wisdom.

Here is my dilemma.  I was recently disciplined at work for my absences.  With the various health issues I have had, I have had quite a few absences.  I was told if I am absent two more times, I am going to be suspended.  I am praying that IF surgery is necessary, it puts me out for the rest of the year.  I don't want to miss anymore school.  I just want to make sure my job is secure, as I really love my school and the kids in it.  If I have to have surgery, I am really certain it would require multiple absences, as my last surgery did.

Please, please pray for me about this.  I tend to worry and obsess a lot.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi, Trish.
I will certainly be in prayer about the possibility of surgery and all that would entail. As far as your workplace saying that you will be suspended if you're absent two more times, I do not see how they could do that, legally, if you need surgery. If your doctor says you need surgery, have him prepare a letter addressing that, and give it to your boss. Research the issue, but I'm pretty sure they cannot discipline you for missing work due to needing surgery and time to recuperate.

Thanks Mary,
I am a member of the National Federation of Teachers, and have had Union representation at meetings already.  I had doctor's documentation for my sinus surgery, and for a post-op illness that had me home for three and a half days, and they don't care.  I came to work with the boot on after being absent to see the orthopedist, and he did not care.  They care about the fact that since my gastric bypass, I have been absent a lot.  The thinking is all screwed up.  If I am absent for a month all at once, it is counted as one absence.  If I am absent a sick day in one month.  two sick days in a week.  a sick day three weeks later, they count that as 3 absences.  They count all those individual absences and call me in for a meeting after 7 of them.  I took a note from my family doctor, documenting that he had seen me 8 times between October and December for sinusitis, body pains and cellulitis and that he referred me to specialists and that I had abnormal bloodwork.  They don't care about that.  They think I am a slacker and want to get rid of me.  I tried to apply for Family Medical Leave this year, because I got threatened with suspension last year.  I was turned down for the leave because of my absences last year.  I had the hernia surgery last year, and then my brother died.  There is nothing the union can do to protect me in this case.  That is why I must pray about this foot situation, and seek God's will for it.  If it should come to surgery, I will explain to the surgeon about the disciplinary actions, and the need to go on sick leave till the end of the year.

I am unable to sleep tonight.  I have a lot on my mind.  I guess I need to pray and seek the Lord for a few minutes.

Thanks,
Trish

As I'm reading your reply, I'm just shaking my head. Messed up thinking, on their part, for sure. I've never heard of a school district counting absences the way you describe. Well, God will give you wisdom, and God will give the doctor wisdom, and this situation will work out. The Father wants the absolute best for you. He works everything out for good, for His children, as you know, though sometimes we don't see how He could. And when we don't see His plan, we must trust His Heart. Go to Him. Climb up onto His big lap, and place your head on His Heart. Let Him love on you.
Blessings,
Mary
