WOW!  I am so excited to find a Christian forum here.  My name is Jennifer.. I had RNY on July 16, 2007 and have lost 175 pounds.  I am a high school teacher, youth leader and very active in my church.  I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.  I hope to visit here often!!!  I'd love to be a part of this message board!

What do you teach, if you don't mind me asking? I am a retired English teacher, and, believe it or not, I miss the kids. My husband is a youth group leader, and we're active in our church.
How can we pray for you or otherwise encourage you on your journey? With your awesome weight loss, I'm sure you have much to teach us. You look marvelous, and I'm sure you feel much better, having released 175 lbs.! Wow!

I teach Principles of Business and Digital Media I.  I do love my job and consider it a blessing to be able to hopefully be a positve role model for some of my students.  There is no doubt that God placed me in my job and I have no intentions of letting him down!.. *smile*  

I so appreciate your offer for prayer.  I would love for us to commit to pray for each other as we go through this journey and transformation.  I wish I had some great advice to offer, but alas I did very little work.  This whole experience was divinely ordained and God's handiwork is all over it.  However, I can offer some "Jenniferisms" from time to time.  

Again, it is great to find this little corner of OH.  :)  I hope we can support and encourage each other!

My other degree is in Business Education, so I taught some business classes early in my career, before moving solely into English and Literature. I enjoyed it, mostly. I didn't care for being yearbook sponsor, as it was too stressful. :)

Yes, let's do commit to pray for one another. My mind finished that with the rest of the verse, "that you may be healed." Precious.

Welcome Jennifer!  You will love this board!  Mary gives awsome devotions which really help keep me on track.  Everyone is supportive and kind and really do pray for each other.  I also am a teacher by way of being a nurse (Health Science Tech) and can't wait until I can say I've lost even half of what you have!!!

Welcome! It's great to see you! What is the major town near where you live? I live in Charleston right now...but grew up in NC...have brothers there...and plan to move there when my hubby retires from the Navy. I am a registered nurse...and have also taught. Right now, I am blessed to be able to stay home and take care of my children...but I am a volunteer Red Cross nurse here. Looking forward to getting to know you! Congrats on your awesome weight loss!

I live about an hour east of Charlotte.  I suppose that is teh closest major town.  :)  I look forward to getting to know you too and thanks!
