Hi, Everyone.
Whether you're sad or glad, after yesterday's election, may each of us "pray for those in authority over [us]" (I Timothy 2:2).

John 6:16-21
"That evening Jesus' disciples went down to the shore to wait for Him. But as darkness fell and Jesus still hadn't come back, they got into the boat and headed across the lake toward Capernaum. Soon a gale swept down upon them, and the sea grew very rough. They had rowed about three or four miles when suddenly they saw Jesus walking on the water toward the boat. They were terrified, but He called out to them, 'Don't be afraid, I am here!' Then they were eager to let Him in the boat, and immediately they arrived at their destination!"

It was a dark and stormy night on Lake Galilee. The disciples were cold, wet, and exhausted from rowing almost four hours in storm-tossed waters. They had been impatient and left safe shores without Jesus, but He came to their rescue anyway--walking on the stormy sea toward their boat. When Jesus got in the boat, He brought them safely to shore.
We would be wise to stay with Jesus and His plan for us. Going off on our own will inevitably lead us into some stormy situations. If we do leave Jesus behind, however, He will still rescue us, if we look to Him for help.

What this has to do with weight loss:  Weight loss causes many changes, not only in our body but in how others treat us. We may find that we are the recipients of attention from the opposite sex, attention that can lead us into stormy waters. Don't leave your safe shore, without Jesus. Follow the plan He has for you, and you will get to the other side safely.

Today, where are you? Have you gone on your own way? If so, let Jesus bring you back. Listen to Michael W. Smith singing "Draw Me Close."

I was so bummed all night and when I got up this AM with the election results and then......I hopped in my car to go to the doctors and what was the first song that came on my CD player but "My Hope is in the Lord"! Then I realized that He is the one who can control the events not my self and that my ONLY hope is in Him. So with a smile on my face and my totally tone deaf singing I drove off with a peaceful heart! God still speaks to us, just in His own way.

That's so sweet. God ministered to me, too, while I was soaking in my friend's hot tub, after my water exercises in their pool. Only the song that came to me was "Great Is Thy Faithfulness." God's been busy today, no doubt, ministering to many disappointed people.
I've already begun praying for Obama. I truly believe he's going to need it, and I don't mean that in a mean way.
Blessings,
Mary
