Continued Prayer Needed
My son-in-law, Trent, had a second surgery on his finger today. He must have a third surgery on Thursday evening. Please pray they are successful in removing the infection and can close the wound up. The doctors do not know what type of infection it is, nor are they sure they can prevent it from traveling into his blood to his organs.
Also, please pray for my daughter, as she is staying by his side, heling him through the night. My granddaughter is staying with his parents for now. Also, please pray as my daughter is supposed to be back at work, as her school year started, and the students begin school on Tuesday. Teachers came back to work this week in her school district.
Thanks for praying.
I do wish I lived closer, as I could be there to help her, instead of just sitting over here praying and calling her.
Hugs,
Trish

Dear Trish,
You are helping, by praying and calling your daughter. Prayer is the impetus that will turn this situation around.
As a former teacher, I can tell you that your daughter's school district must allow her to take medical leave, for this situation. Her job will be protected. Also, if her district has a sick leave pool, and she has signed up for it and donated at least one day, she should be able to add a certain number of days per policy to her contracted number of sick days and draw on that. That way, she can take those days to be with her husband and still get paid.
I'll be praying for your son-in-law's surgery, that the source of the infection will be found and treated. It will NOT get into his blood stream, in Jesus' Name!
Blessings,
Mary

Thanks Mary,
I am also a teacher, and am aware of the Family Medical Leave Act, which my daughter can apply for. I just know that my daughter was responsible for doing some of the professional developments at her school this week, as she is the Reading Specialist for her district, and she is also very obsessive compulsive about her job, and stresses out to the max about things being done perfectly. Hopefully, this will teach her to let go, and trust God for the small details.
It is weird. Her district is so small, it has one elementary school and one high school. She is on a first name basis with the superintendent. Conversely, I teach in the city of Philadelphia, where we have over 20,000 members in our union, which is made up of teachers, secretaries, food service workers and custodians. Our district is divided into regions, and each region has many elementary schools and a few high schools each.
I am not sure if her district has the banked leave days.
I am concerned because my son-in-law is a private contractor who does home repairs, and he has no disability coverage. Also, my daughter only teaches part time, two and a half days a week, while my granddaughter is a baby. She only makes enough to pay for their medical insurance. They live off of his income.
Oh well, the Lord knows their needs and will see them through this, as He saw her father and me through our rough times financially.
Thanks for the prayers.
Hugs,
Trish
