Amazing Grace!
Dear All,
I don't know if you've seen this video, but it's worth the time. I remember seeing this on television, and it was amazing! Mr. Phipps gives about a 5-5 1/2 minute talk about negro spirituals and then he sings Amazing Grace by John Newton. The way he sings it, making the sounds that one might have heard coming from slaves in the bowels of a slave ship, and the sound of waves in the background, as well as his beautiful baritone voice will draw you to the Throne of Grace. Let me know if this link doesn't work.

Oh Mary, thank you! That was such an inspiration. I went on to listen to him sing "It is Well". I sat here and tears rolled down my face. I am so thankful that I can say "It is well" and that God has protected me and brought me to this place. Again, thank you!

You're welcome! I'm glad to know that someone listened to the song, and, yes, "It Is Well" is beautiful, too. I love and appreciate the hymns, the choruses, and the newer praise music. One day, we'll hear it all, up close and personal!
