Upsetting Tough Decision, Please Pray

I would appreciate your prayers for me this weekend, and coming week.  I must take one of my cats to a shelter and no longer keep her.  She has been acting aggressively toward people , and tonight she attacked me and bit me.  This has me so upset, I am not sure of myself anymore.

I'm sure this is very upsetting, but just looking at the picture of that sweet baby with you, and you must know that you are making the right decision. What if the cat had bit a baby or child? There may be a physical reason why your cat is acting aggressively toward others. If so, it will only get worse. The kind thing is to let it be put down. You've done all you can do.
Please take care of the bite area.

I had wrestled with this decision since the kids were here in July, as the cat had been very aggressive toward my son-in-law.  Then, I had an incident where I had Isabel, the granddaughter, in my arms and had to get the cats into the bedroom.  Kujo Kitty was nasty as ever then, BUT, i had to protect Isabel.

Oh Trish, I'm so sorry and I know how difficult it is to do this. Hopefully maybe they can find her another home somewhere. You are doing the right thing tho, maybe she has something medically wrong with her or depending on her age maybe just getting old. Anyway you can't chance her hurting the grand baby. Please don't doubt yourself, these things just happen sometimes and the shelter will know what to do. Do keep an eye on that bite as cat bites can get infected pretty easy, any sign of redness or swelling get in to the doc's. One of my cats just took a playful nibble one time and my hand got all swollen and really sore, needed antibiotics. Know that you are doing what is right for you and the kitty.

Thanks for reminding me to take care of the bite.  I just let it bleed, and hoped for the best.  I used to get panic attacks when he left, because I had abandonment issue big time.

Please do take care of the bite.  My MIL stepped on a kittens tail and it bit her toe.  She's been in the hospital for a week on IV antibiotics after 2 weeks of unsuccessful oral antibiotics at home.  There is a question of bone infection.  Also, from another viewpoint, your cat could have been very hurt had it bitten someone who didn't care about it and know it's normal nature.  You realize something is not right and must do what you can to protect others and keep the cat from getting really hurt from someone lashing out at her.  I will keep you in my prayers this week.
