How wonderful to find this board!

I had no clue all of these other boards were here - how great to find this one!!!

I do have a prayer request.  I had to send in renewal papers for my youngest son's Medicaid last week.  The worker called and informed me that we now make too much money (because my DH has been working some overtime), so he'll no longer get Medicaid, plus DH and I will no longer have the state insurance as of the end of August.  I panicked and told her that I have surgery scheduled for the end of September, so she was able to make it so that my insurance doesn't end until the end of September, but after that I'll have nothing.  This has really made me think about cancelling my surgery all together since I won't be covered if something goes wrong.  I have faith that God has brought me this far and He knows what He's doing, so I'll go along with the surgery.

I told the worker about my husband working overtime lately and this is the only reason why he's making more, so she's going to investigate further to see if we can keep this insurance, please pray that this happens!  It costs much more than we can afford to get insurance through his work.  My children will be covered by another state insurance program, so that in itself is a huge blessing, but my DH had a heart attack last year and takes many meds that are so expensive!  It's awful to be in the "working poor" category where you make too much for assistance, but too little to afford basic healthcare!!!

Welcome to the board, yes we are well hidden but more and more people are being lead here. God is very busy on this board. It's rough dealing with the red tape, I pray that this will all be resolved in your favor!

I will be praying that this insurance thing will work out in your favor. Don't cancel your surgery! Go on with it, and trust God to take care of the rest. Remember, God is Jehovah-Jireh (our Provider), and we look to Him to "supply all our needs," rather than whatever the world has to offer. He will be BIG, in this situation.

Denise,  Wow I definitely will be praying for you.  We are having similiar situations.  I just lost my job yesteday.  I have insurance till the end of September but after that I will have to pay for Cobra myself which is a huge expense.  Please pray for God's leading with getting another job.  And to lose the weight ASAP so I can get my surgery.  I have Kaiser.  So I had to lose 30lbs before I could get my surgery.  The medical office I work at is closing next wednesday will be my last day.

I am so glad you found our family of faith here.  I am also glad that you felt comfortable enough to share your prayer request with us.  We have some great prayer warriors here, and I will definitely be praying for your situation.  I remember all too well what it was like to work two jobs, my husband worked two jobs and we did not have insurance at all, nor did we qualify for assistance from the state.
