Refreshed!!
I feel great today. Yesterday I finally made the trip to my surgeon's office in Washington DC and attended his support group. It was nice to see fellow WLS patients, some pre and most post. I was able to share about my struggles and my experiences. I also hooked up with a good WLS minded nutritionist to help me get back on track with my food plan. I also attended an evening support group in my home town area which was wonderfully positive. There were several ladies 3+ years post surgery that have found the same challenges and keeping to the bariatric diet and I found great inspiration on exercise as well. I admitted that I had abandoned the support groups and food plan after 3 years and of course found myself in a permanent plateau before reaching goal weight. I was getting really scared. I do have one friend who after 5 years has gained back 90 of the 110 pounds she lost. That is frightening to me but a very real possibility. I realize that I must use the tool of my WLS to be healthy and happy from this point forward.
Hope everyone is having a great day. I am motivated and more aware of my food choices today and that is a blessing. Now if I could only exercise...one day at at time...

Hi, Cindy.
It was exciting to read your post, to see that you are making such great choices. It is refreshing, knowing that you're working the plan! You've done so well, and you don't want to become one of the unsuccessful stories. I know you'll be fine. Maybe you can start a support group in your area, for those who are 2+ years out. You're very articulate, so I think you'd be great at that.
Blessings,
Mary
