Hello everyone It's so good to find a christian web site for weight loss surgery patients. I have been mostly just reading the posts and finally decided to say HI I am hoping to get my gastric bypass in a few months I stll have 12 lbs to lose so be praying for me I certainly appreciate it. Thank you so much for responding. Also thanks for the prayers. I am getting my surgery with Kaiser and the company iI work for is disolving and I may lose my benefits. I work at a MD's office and my med benefit is Kaiser So I need to lose the weight as fast as possible before I lose my job and benefits. Thanks for the support. Mary

I'm a bit confused. I had the DS so maybe that's why I don't understand. Why do you have to lose weight prior to surgery? Is there a BMI requirement for safety issues? Sorry I am just nosey today!! Welcome to the board!! The men and women here are awesome!! Hugs and prayers-Amy

Hi AMY thanks for your response. I have to lose a total of 30lbs before my surgery. It is a requirement with Kaiser to lose 10% of your weight before they will do the surgery. And I just found out I may lose my job and benefits in a couple months so I need to lose as fast as possible so I can get scheduled for my surgery . Prayers would be so appreciated. Oh they want us to lose weight because it shows we are committed to a lifestyle change and they surgery is a lot easier if there is less fat on the liver. In His Grip, mary
