Through a storm or two
Ive been doing spiritual warfare and man does it get messy sometimes. My church is on a 21 day fast and I am participating in it and Praise God so is my husband. I am not doing a total fast (I am Daniel fasting most of the time)for 21 days as that is just not good for me with my surgery and all, but I just got off of 3 days total fasting and it seemed that everything came at me at once, but "greater is He that is in me than he that is the world!" I do not want to dwell on all the stuff but I do need prayer. My FIL just found out he has conjestive heart failure and pnemonia(sp). My MIL is already in the end stages of the E word that you get when you smoke 35 years (why can't they name these diseases Bob or something?). Anyway, my dh is facing the possibilty of losing both of his parents soon. Both are Christians, but it is so hard to watch my dh go through this. Please keep me in your prayers. Hugs-Amy
Hi Amy,
I am so sorry that your in-laws are suffering physically, and that your husband is facing their home-going so soon. Grief hurts, but God is good in that He provides during it. I will pray for both of them, as well as you and hubby. I remember when we buried my brother at the age of 40, oh how it hurt. But God provided His comfort and grace to endure.
What is involved in the Daniel fast? I am interested in it.
Hugs,
Trish
It comes from Daniel Chapter 10. I'm sure you know the story. Daniel refused to eat the kings meat and ate only fruits and vegetables so he would not defile himself. He promised the jailer who was afraid to allow him to do this that he would be stronger than any of the others at the end of the fast and he was. It is a partial fast. Anyway you eat fruits, vegetables and legumes. No sugar, sugar substitutes, meat, fish, dairy, white flour or preservatives. I can give you a great link as soon as I get back on Sunday. I am heading out for the weekend in fifteen minutes or so, but I will give you a great site then if you would like to know more. Have a great weekend!! Hugs-Amy
Even as Christians death is still so difficult. We recently had a terrible incident of suicide just before Christmas. My dear grand daughter found her ex-boyfriend and father of their 9 mos. old baby dead from a self inflicted shot gun. We are all Christians but it has rocked us to the core. I truely don't know how non-Christians survive dealing with the terrible pain of loss. At least we know we will see our saved loved ones again. Just because people are older and you "kinda" expect them to pass, it is still impossible for us to be glad, even when we know they are with the Lord. My prayers are with you and your family. I too have that E word from smoking and can't spell it either, I think I will henceforth call it Bob.
