Weekend Reflections
Did you ever have one of those weeks? I did. The cir****tances are not as important as my reaction to them. I tried to handle things in my own strength, and made a mess of things. My emotional state was not good at times, as I was under a lot of temptation and, unfortunately, did not fair well at times.
The good news is I was reminded of a study I did in 2 Corinthians. In the beginning of the book, it talks about how we can use our trials to minister to others. Toward the end of the book, Paul talks about the thorn in the flesh, and how God's strength is made perfect in our weakness. How I wish I could remember that when I am feeling sorry for myself for my trials and temptations.
So, as I look back on my week, I am not proud of how I handled certain things, but I am so grateful that God understands, forgives, and gives second chances.
How was your week?
Hugs,
Trish
Trish, your post reminded me of a song that I love....it's never been on the Christian song hit list....but I found it in a piano book (I play the piano) and it has become so special to me....let me share the words....
Three times I asked Him, Three times I begged Him, Three times I prayed the prayer:
Lord, relieve me of my suffering -- give me healing there."
Three times He answered, Three times He said it, Three times I heard Him say:
"My grace is more than you will need; I give it every day"
Some victories are absolute; the battle's over and won, But others we must face again,
the fighting's never done.
But in our weakness God displays the power He has to give.
To some He grants and end to pain;
To some the strength to merely live,
Three times I asked Him, Three times I begged Him, Three times I prayed the prayer:
Lord, relieve me of my suffering -- give me healing there."
Three times He answered, Three times He said it, Three times I heard Him say:
"My grace is more than you will need; I give it every day"
I give it every day, Take it every day.
This song (1978) it by Tom Fettke/Bryan Jeffery Leech and is based on 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
The tune is beautiful, too.
My prayers are with you, my friend!
