I know that my daughter's gift is from God, but I just am shocked at how He works and I thought I would share. We had our Christmas play a few weeks ago and my daughter(she is 12) was a dancer in the play (yes we have a dance team and she is on it, but that is not her gift). Anyway two weeks before the play they realized tey had a solo that was not filled so they told her she could try it and see if she could sing. The gave her the part and I listened to her practice. It was a beautiful ballad thanking Jesus for coming as a "child like me." I have heard her sing a bunch of times so I thought she sounded good and so we went to dress rehersal and left her for 5 hours I guess. When my husband and I got back. The pastor called s into his office and said"did you know your daughter could sing like that?" We had no idea and felt kind of dumb because we really didn't know until we went over and heard her on the microphone and all. She sang in the play in front of at least 600 people and she could not get out of the church afterwards because people were stopping her to tell her that goosebumps were going up their back as she sang and the like. As I shared earlier the church is giving her free voice lessons to help her hone her talent and they are going to be sure she learns the keyboard by chord so she can lead worship for the youth in 2 years. I am just awed at God's goodness. I know that this will help her confidence and walk with Him and that others will be blessed through her. Its better than if I had the gift myself-to watch her blosom. Sorry this was so long. I love you guys. Amy

Of course you are proud. I remember when my kids were little, and they used their talents in church. My son started his acting and singing career in church, and went on to major in acting in college, and became a professional. He met his wife that way. She did the same thing, and her voice is like an angel's. Praise the Lord your church identified her talent, and is training her to use it for God's glory. The Lord will open up opportunities for her to train more, and if it is His will, even study in college and become a professional, or minister in churches, or both. Keep sharing what God is doing. I love to hear testimonies like this. Hugs, Trish

Thanks Trish. You made me cry. It was a good kind of cry though. You are just such a gift from God yourself. Hugs-Amy
