Brusied and Bloodied from the DS board, but I survived

Hello All, I make the mistake of suggesting that a prayer group be started on the DS board, and I've been verbally assulted, slandered, attacked, and called all manner of names. I hope that I can find folks here that are not so vicious as those people are. I am a pre op DS (1/14/08) and my wife is 15 mo post op RNY and 15 lbs from goal. God bless everyone here.

I guess that's why they have a special place here for us crazy Christians. I'm so sorry your idea was so badly recieved. I know you will find lots of support here. The people are great.

Sorry that happened to you, it happened to me too when I first posted on the DS board. It wasn't as bad as what happened to you. You can request that OH remove that thread and they will oblige. Please feel free to ask any questions you have about DS and please remember to share your experiences. Are you an open or lap patient?

Thanks Vicki, I did ask, OH removed the thread, and it is gone. I never knew such vile and hateful perole were on this type of board. Everyone I have met through my wife's WLS have been so nice and suportive. It really just took me aback. But now, I guess they think they have won, but we all know better. As Jesus told his disciples if they were not welcome "shake the dust from their feet".

Wow, You really DID get beat up.....and I warned ya! I am so sorry you had to see it first hand and hoped you would be able to stay and keep posting, in spite of.....even tho I couldn't do it. I too....shook the dust and it will be like sodom and gomorrah for them in the end. Sad, but true. I will never post there again (unless there is change for the better) because we all know it's about to self destruct anyway. I truly believe that they are doing far more harm than good for the DS because when newbies come seeking information and see all the cruelty and arrogant maligning....they have to ask themselves....WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE? If they are so totally unhappy........what's so great about the DS. They have to wonder......if THIS is what the DS does for people......who wants it? I myself have been doing more research into the RNY for just this reason. Seriously.....maybe the malabsorption of vitamins and minerals makes them NUTS! Anyone who can take something kind and loving (like your prayer request post) and turn it into something cruel and heartless has something wrong with them imho. OMG! PLEASE tell me your kidding. Because we don't believe against reason in an all-powerful made-up deity that hears and answers all prayer (which is OBVIOUSLY not true) then we are NUTS!? FYI -- I was a freakin' Atheist LONG before I had my DS thank you VERY MUCH! UNBELIEVABLE, you people!

I'm commenting because your opinion is sheer idiocy and it also slanders ME and my friends. You say something like you just said, and you better believe I'm gonna go balls out, both barrels V&M on your crazy ass!!! I was a ***** (define self-assured, assertive, woman) WAY before I had my DS, thankyou very much. I would've just rolled over into RNY submission like everybody else if I hadn't been, I truly believe. A couple of years ago the DS forum was as quiet as the sleeve forum is today. But the more people you get together in one place, the more personality conflicts there will be. There are some very assertive personalities on the DS forum. Is that a bad thing? Why, HELL NO! But it does lead to some LIVELY conversations. I can't help it you're a spineless dishrag. Get some medication is all I have to say!
