We Must Hurt To Heal
We Must Hurt To Heal
A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. (John 16:20)
I facilitated a "wordshop" at a Women's Conference last Saturday. Two of the facilitators who preceded me both said in their "wordshops" that "We must hurt to heal." When you think about it, you too will agree that we must hurt before we are healed. Then when we are healed, we use our hurt to help others.
We know that not too many things hurt worst than a root canal. But after that painful procedure is completed, our gums heal. Women who have had a baby will tell you that there are labor pains during child birth. Then the body heals.
There is only one place where healing comes before hurting, and that's in the dictionary. Any major healing in our lives always follow a hurt of some kind. If you are hurting today, know that healing is imminent. Healing is sure to follow your hurt.
You must hurt before you are healed.
