Hunger for Jesus!
You know through this process of having this surgery, I really want this surgery to bring me even closer to Jesus!! He is the most important person in my life!! HE is the love of my life!! No one could ever take His Place! I want to do His will more than anything! I want to be able to do more for him after I have lost weight and food no longer is an issue for me. I believe that God has been preparing me for this phase in my life!! I think he prepares all of us for this at some point. We have to decide how we are going to deal with this!! Choose life or choose death!! I am choosing life and if you are going through this process or have gone, you are choosing life!! Its a decision!
In Matthew 5:6, it says "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." I am no longer hungering for food to meet my emotional needs, but I am hungering and thirsting after Jesus who fills the hunger that nothing else will. My prayer for all of you is that you would seek after him with ALL of your heart, desire HIM, hunger and thirst for him!! Why?? Because he is the one who is going to fill those voids or areas in your life that food was once used to treat (emotionally). We need to take this time and seek after him to complete us!!
Does this mean that all of the issues surrounding our weight loss go away?? No, they don't, but Jesus is there to help and walk you through each one so that you will be healed and set free from it!! I was going through some counseling a while ago and to be honest I was getting frustrated with how slow the process was. Yes, impatience was trying to set in, so one day I was praying and the Lord spoke to me "suddenly" and it really caught me off gaurd. He said, "If I were to change and heal you instantly, the change would be soo great, you would not be able to handle it!" He was showing me that he had to do little at a time with me so that I could handle and adjust to it, otherwise, it would have been too much.
In Matthew 11:29-30, it reads: "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." God knows how much we can handle!! He never gives us any more or any less. He knows exactly how much and when to give it!! He knows that every one who is going through this and has gone could handle it!! Even when, at times, it seems like its too much, it not, because he isn't going to overwhelm you!!
I encourage you all to take this time and get to know Him, Let him in ALL areas of your life and seek after him. I can guarentee that your life will be changed!! Since you are changing your physical and emotional being, why not Let Jesus change you spiritually so that you can become the the man or woman of God he always intended you to be!!
God Bless all of YOU!!
Hugs,
Lucy
