No Other Way

No Other Way "Abba Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will." (Mark 14:36) There might be several ways to complete a project, and we have the option of choosing the method we use to get the same desired results. When we travel, we can usually choose different routes to get to the same destination. When Jesus came to earth to save us from our sins, was there more than one way to do it? Or was going the cross the only way? Was the method Jesus used to save us the only plan of God, or could there have been some other way? Jesus asked that same question in the Garden of Gethsemane. He asked God to spare Him from the upcoming events. However, His request was no attempt to resist God's will or even a suggestion to get God to change His mind. His plea clearly acknowledged His obedience to the will of God. Through Jesus' agony in the garden that night, He came to the conclusion that there was no other way. He reconciled what was about to happen by saying to His Father: "O my Father, if this cup cannot pass away from me unless I drink it, your will be done." (Matthew 26:42) Was there any other way for Jesus to save all of us at the same time even before we were conceived? There was no other way! God's plan was perfect. God's plan was divinely necessary. And there are some things in our lives that are DIVINELY NECESSARY! Let's surrender to complete them God's way because THERE IS NO OTHER WAY!

Hello Natalie..I am Joan and it is good to meet you here. Love your posts. Yes, the Lord is faithful and there is only One Way and Jesus is The Way. Our Women's Bible Study is on Surrender. There are many things as believers we think we must surrender...but in reality we must as the Old Hymn says...I Surrender ALL"...all of my hopes, dreams, plans, desires....loved ones, those who despise me, those who misuse me...I think we get the drift. All I am and all I ever will be has to be surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. My weight...my food...the reactions of people to my weight loss...all of it. We can never truly surrender anything until we first surrender our lives to Jesus by admiting we need a Savior. We are all sinners saved by grace and that is the first surrender to recognize and admit that we need to be in liine with the Father's plan. And once we do, then as He shows us, we need to lay down (surrender) each thing. Sometimes these things are easy, sometimes they are harder BUT with Jesus it is possible to live a daily surrendered life. With that said..I am still learning moment by moment to lay down my life an dpick up the cross and follow Jesus. May we each know that the things we surrender will always be replaced by more of Him. In His never ending love and grace, Joan M
