Wednesday Coffee Talk
Well, good morning my wonderful Bama Family! How'd ya sleep? Ready for a wonderful day? Ya better be! I feel like something good is about to overtake you today. Are ya ready for it?
Our challenge today is to NOT look back. What do I mean? Don't look back at your past failures, past mistakes, or you past in general. Too many times, we allow our past to haunt us or even rule our lives. What happened last night at midnight happened YESTERDAY! Look at Lot's wife. God told her NOT to look back and she did. She was punished for looking back. We too are in essance punished every time we look back. We punish ourselves. We see the hurt. Thank God for forgiveness. Thank God HE forgave me and if He can forgive me, I can forgive myself for what I did in the past. Today is a new day. You can't go back and fix what you did a second ago. Why worry about it? Why let it haunt you? Why stress over past mistakes? Look ahead! Look forward! I tell people about my 3 "R's". Realize, Recognize, and Repent. I don't necessarily mean in repenting to God although ultimate forgiveness comes from God. Sometimes we have to repent to ourselves. Forgive yourself of your mistakes and move on. Realize what you've done, recognize what caused you to mess up, then repent. Forgive yourself. Sometimes it's harder for us to forgive ourselves than it is for us to forgive someone who has done us wrong. Why is that? We should forgive ourselves and love ourselves no matter what. Don't focus on your rearview mirror. Focus on your windshield. It's a lot bigger than that mirror showing what's behind you!
So, who's up? What cha sipping on? Me? I'm sipping on some awesome Black Mountain Gold Cafe Mocha Tiramisu. What a name, but what a coffee! MAN! This stuff is like a dessert in itself. I feel like I am sinning and having some kind of awesome cake. HONESTLY! I wish I could share this cup with you!
Ya'll have a wonderful Wednesday and look ahead, not behind!
I'm not appologizing for the "sermon" today. HEHEHE
That was very good!!!! You are absolutely correct!!!! Its waaaayyyyyy harder to forgive yourself than others. I like the comparison of the rearivew and front window. You can't go forward when you are continually looking behind you! Thank you for not "appologizing" for the sermon!!
God Bless and Hugs,
Lucy
