God IS the God of second Chances!

That statement is a mouthful, but whoa is it soo true!! You know Jesus is my best friend! When I say this I am truly meaning it. He has been there for me when everyone else left, He has listened to me countless hours of praying, crying, singing, complaining and so forth. When I felt alone, He was there! When I was happy, He was with me! When I was sad or angry, He was there too! When I didn't understand situations or people, God did and He would comfort me and give me peace. He was there with me in the midst of the worse situations in my life!! You see, I know God has been above and beyond my best friend. He has been my life!!! Has my relationship with Him always been like this?? NO, unfortunately not. Even though He has been my best friend, I haven't always been a best friend or a friend at times to him. How you may ask?? Through mistakes I have made, poor choices I have made, sins I have commited and so forth. I have not listened to him or spent time with him nearly as much as he has with me! But as I mentioned, He is the God of second chances!! sometimes, third, forth etc. Everytime I mess up I can go to him, repent and go on with our relationship. He is all forgiving!! In Jonah 3:1-3, The lord had to give Jonah the same word a second time because he didn't listen the first time!!! How many times has God had to speak something to us, either in scripture, through a person or in prayer and then repeat it to us, and sometimes, years later!! He is the God of second chances!! Praise God!! In reality, God could have left me years ago because of how I treated our relationship, but he didn't, He forgave me!! Because He truly, deeply, infinitely loves me!! He loves you the same way!! Thank God my relationship with Him has grown and is growing!! I believe having WLS is our second chance at this life!! God is giving us this second chance, so that we can become the person He wants us to be and to fulfill the vision he has for our lives! So I encourage everyone to take this time and really concentrate on your relationship with God and become closer to Him, because this is the second chance He is giving you to live the life He has for you!! Amen to the truth that God is a God of second chances. He loves us unconditionally, and is the father in the story of the Prodigal son. He seeks us as we come crawling back to Him with our tail between our legs. He runs to us, and wraps His arms around us, and puts the ring on our finger. And, I am so unworthy to receive any of His blessings, yet, He lavishes them on me in spite of myself. I am so grateful that He has allowed me to have this surgery and to start a new life in my new body. Hugs, Trish
