I know when I started this process I knew beyond any doubt that this was God's timing for me! A year ago, I would have never ever considered this, but my heart changed and it was like BAM (yes emeril's fav line, lol), I knew this was for me!!! I believe that when each of us chooses to do this, we are entering a new season in our lives!! The scripture, Isaiah 43:18-19, reads: "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland!" God is opening new doors, opportunities, ministries for us to do as a result of having this surgery!! He is doing a new thing in each of us!! Isn't this exciting?? To those who have met goal, You are moving onto greater things, praise God, now he is opening more doors for you too!! Now to get to there from here, is going to require letting go of somethings (i.e. food issues, coping skills etc), spiritually growing and learning form God's word!! Replacing those old habits with more of God's word and developing a stronger walk with Him! I know this is going to be a challenge for myself and other new post-ops, but in the end I will have become the person He wants me to be. I know there maybe days that are better than others and there will be days that are challenging to me, but I will keep reminding myself of the scripture in John 16:20-22, it reads, "I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. " When we get to goal and are there, the toughest part of the juorney will eventually fade away and we will look at the brand new us!! Praise God!! I am spekaing this to myself as well!! You all are awesome people and I know that if things get tough, I can count on all of you for prayer and support!!!! My encouragement for everyone is to focus on Jesus through this and know that God is developng you into the person he wants you to be!! God Bless and Hugs! Lucy
