Hey everyone, I am so amazed at how well this surgery has worked. I guess int he back of my mind I was afraid I would be the one that it didn't work on. I am down from my highest weight of 258 down to 232 so a total loss of 26lbs. I am blown away. I am getting out almost everyday and walking alot just doing everyday stuff and I am walking at night. Not perfectly yet, but I am getting there. I know once it cools off a bit I will be much more eager. We are also talking about getting an eleptical for home so I have access right there so I don't have to worry about the elements, esp during winter. I feel really good except for my incision pain. Why I am still hurting I dont know, but I have one really large scare on my right about 3.5 inches and it is really sore. That is the only one that hurst. I am really having a hard time getting in my calcium because it constipates me sooooooo bad. Does anyone else have this problem. I don't know what to do, I am taking colace like I am supposed to, but to no avail. Any suggestions would be great. I love you all and am praying for all that you are doing well and for those getting ready to take the plunge, my prayers are with you for no complicatons and a quick recovery. The Lord bless all of you Trish

Hey Trish - I do have a suggestion and hopefully you can give it a try and it will help/work. I take Caltrate 600 D Plus Chewables for calcium and they are VERY easy on my tummy. I love you as well and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Things will get a bit better sweetie! All best, Kat

I'm so glad to hear things are going "mostly" well. Don't have any brilliant cures for constipation, but just wanted to say Hi and keep up the great work. I finally got approval for my lap band and am waiting till next week to see what the Oct. schedule looks like for getting the procedure. I'm finally letting myself get excited-can't wait. Take care and keep us posted. Love hearing your successes! Karen

Trish - are you sure it is the calcium that is constipating? I had never heard that before. I hear it about iron, but never calcium. Well here are a few ideas for curing the constipation. Buy some ground flax seed. I get mine at Trader Joes. Put about a teaspoon in your applesauce or in your soup - what ever it can go on. Taste pretty good too. Kind of like ground up nuts. Give that a few days. Increase if nessasary, but start slowly. Another suggestion is a product called colon cleanse. My husband has used it for years. Hope that helps. Sally

I take the calcium chews - sugar free of course. I haven't noticed that they constipate me. I do have a question about the colace. Is it a pill? Do you take it daily? I am curious for when I have that problem. However, I can only find laxative type meds that I absolutely do not want to take. I always thought colace was a capsule. Would you clarify for me. I am glad that you are doing so well. God is so good. Kim M.

Colace is a gell capsule very small. Ask your pharmasist about it he will know where it is. It really helps, I take it morning and night and you can't even tell you are taking it. Hope this helps, Trish
