Hi Everyone it has been 5 months since my surgery

Hi Everyone It has been 5 months now since my Open RNY..I go to my primary doctors on Tues 7/10 and i go to my reina eye specialists on Thurs 7/12.. I have lost 75 lbs since my surgery and a total of 143 lbs since last yr in Feb 2006.. Soon i will be under 300 lbs and i am excited--my clothes are getting too big on me and i am fitting into clothes i have not fit into in over 5 yrs.. I am doing good --no problems except diarhea at times and i have to avoid dairy products as my lactose intolerance has gotten worse after surgery.. My hair is falling out -breaking off whatever--i had this problem for a long time and now it is getting worse --i am afraid that i will end up bald! i bought some PROFECT vials of Protein to help my protein intake..For some reason even low fat peanut butter gives me diarhea--so there has gone another protein source i am very fussy so it is hard for me--I do eat as much meat as i can-- I was wondering if anyone on here had their surgery in Danville PA in Feisinger Hosp? They have not taken or requested any blood work yet--I go to see Dr Still who is the head doctor of the GI Nutrition dept on jul 18th and i am gonna ask--i figured probably after 6 months after surgery they will want blodd tests to see if my protein intake and other things are doing well--when has anyone gotten checked for this--how long after surgery--i mean i go for my routine bloodwork for my diabetes every 3 months--but i just wanna know when will the surgeon check my bloodwork for checking my progress-I am gonna be giving myself a B-12 shot every month--my Prie doc wants me to--and i have heard from others it is best--especially since i am anemic and my Iron is always low and my potassium is always low too--so my prime doc is gonna give me a prescription for B-12 shots and i am gonna pay for the vial myself--my insurance does not cover it--i am diabetic so i am use to giving myself shots and the vial is only like $11 and it last a few months the pharmacist told me.. Susie, Check out the PA board. I am sure there are people there that are familiar with Geisinger in Danville. My Angel was from Hazleton and I think she had hers in Wilkes Barre. Good job with the weight loss. Hugs, Trish
