Will I ever get a surgery date?
Hi Everyone,
My Name is Cindy, I have been a member of OH since 11/05 and still have not had surgery. I logged in today for the first time in about a month or so and went to the Pa. message board and am really happy to find you guys!!! Well here is my problem, When I first signed up to OH back in '05 I was going to have surgery but then decided to try on my own, well I didn't lose a pound. So on March 28th I went to see the surgeon again to start the process, I had all tests required, I had to switch to a different insurance plan($616.00 a month just for me) because I am currently unemployed, I was approved with the other insurance plan and am waiting for approval for this plan(same company)now the thing is I don't think I will be able to afford this plan after this month,( I am also a single mother of 7) and I told the people at the Dr office that and it just seems that they are dragging their feet does anyone have any suggestions? I really look forward to hearing from you, keep me in your prayers.
Thanks, Cindy
Hi Cindy,
Welcome to the Christianity Board. I see you are a Barix patient. I had my surgery at Barix in August. I hear Dr. Pupkova is awesome.
Your situation requires a ton of prayer and faith. If it is God's will that you have this surgery, it will happen IN HIS TIME. Pray without ceasing. Call on your prayer warriors, like us, and at your church. Seek Him and ask Him how it is to be accomplished. He will show a way.
I can tell you that Barix is swamped. I live in Langhorne, where it is located, and sometimes get very frustrated when I have to call and speak with someone about my post-op bloodwork. That is their only shortcoming as a hospital is concerned. They are the best when it comes to surgery for weight loss.
Hang in there. Keep looking to Him and wait for the miracle.
Hugs,
Trish
Morning Cindy,
I'm glad you logged in this am. Try doing so as often as possible. Lean on others who are going down the same path with you. Does lose faith or sight of your goals. Everything takes time and for WLS its seemingly like hurry up and then wait. Hurry to get all the testing and information to insurance then to wait to be approved and such. Follow up frequently with them reminding them that you are interested and ready to have a fresh start in life. My favorite wording for this is knee-mail! You have got to do lots of it. Trust me God is listening. In fact, there is never a time when he's not. The answer may be no today but tomorrow? Everything happens in God's time. Just believe!

Cindy,
Boy do I know how you feel. I am in almost the exact same situation.
Last year I was going to have surgery and signed on with OH then decided at the last minute to give it one last go on my own with the Lord by my side. Lost 30lbs out of 118 and could lost no more. After a year my children were the ones who helped me come to the decision to go ahead that and alot of prayer. I went to see my surgeon in March as well, did all my preop as well and am now waiting for my approval and it feels like it is taking forever and am in the "fear of" what will I do if they don't appove me.
How about we pray for each other. I live in South Jersey right over the Commodor Berry Bridge ifyou want to give me a call please do and we could pray with each other and help each other though this.
my number is 856-292-3368.
I have told others on this board that I have been very anti social the last few years so you would be doing me such a great blessing by calling.
May the Lord bless you
Trish
