Angel update on Amy (Justamy)

I'm on angel duty for Amy over on the DS board, and she asked me to post updates here as well: Finally, some more info on my angelette, who went in for surgery on Friday, 5/18. (I couldn't reach her or DH Tim over the weekend - turns out there was a typo in the # Amy sent me for his cell!) Amy came through surgery fine on Friday, but her surgeon was only able to do the sleeve. She is feeling OK about that and knew it was a possibility going in. She needed a transfusion over the weekend, due to low hemoglobin, and there was some concern she might have a leak, but that has been resolved. Today, Amy said she is feeling good, and she sounded in very good spirits. Tomorrow, she is supposed to leave the hospital, and they will be staying at a hotel in Chicago. She was started on soft foods today, but was not very happy with the plain yogurt they brought her for lunch, and doesn't really feel like eating yet. She is sipping away, and walking to the extent she can (she was having trouble walking before surgery too). I told her not to worry about eating right now, and just focus on getting her fluids in. I plan to check in with her again in a day or two.

Thank you for letting us know how she is doing. I had been praying for her and thinking of her as she had her surgery. She is a dear, sweet sister in the Lord, and I am glad she came through it okay. Trish Reilly
