I am asking for prayers for a dear friend of mine. Her name is Doris and she was in a really bad car accident last week, hit head-on by a drunk driver. She has two broken ribs. Her pelvis is broken in four places, and she has a chip on her heel. She is being moved from the hospital to a rehab facility sometime this week. She is a sweet sister in the Lord. She covets any and all prayers. Thanks, Trish

Am adding Doris to my prayer list right now. I had a hip replacement 2 yrs ago and can't even imagine 4 breaks in the pelvis, plus all the rest. Poor thing. Karen

Thanks Karen, What is neat is that she was smiling and laughing with me when I visited with her on Monday. She is in really good spirits in spite of the pain she is in. Thanks again. Hugs,Trish

Father, What a miracle that this gal is even alive. For that alone we give you praise and glory. Please help this to never happen again with whoever was driving that car. Let some lessons be learned. Please help our sister heal quickly and with as little discomfort as possible. Amen

Yes, it is a miracle she is alive. When I first spoke with her on Saturday, her first words were, "The Lord is good. I am alive." She expressed no bitterness toward the young lady who hit her. The drunk driver is 21 years old. Doris and I met while I was doing an internship at a rehab facility for severely mentally ill addicts and alcoholics. She described the girl who hit her as "a young lady who made a really bad mistake, as a lot of young people do." There was no bitterness at all in her voice. She is a remarkable sister in the Lord. I went to encourage her, and she encouraged me. Thanks for praying. Hugs, Trish

I am so grateful for friends like Doris. She and I would work a shift from 11:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. and we would just sit up all night sharing how the Lord is at work in our lives, our kids' lives, and how He worked in all the different parts of our lives. I would leave there refreshed and rejoicing every single time. Hugs, Trish
