Ok here goes. This is going to sound silly probably but here goes anyway. I sent my pastor a letter on Wed along with my Tithe check and a check for a course I am taking later this summer through the church. He already knew I was having surgery but I wanted to touch base and remind him that I would be gone for a few weeks due to surgery. My surgery was postponed so now I can go to church and I feel a little awkward. I guess I am afraid he will think I lied or something. I go to a big church-600 or so there on Sunday morning and I usually do not get to talk with him as he is a busy guy. I feel like staying home in some ways, but I miss fellowshipping with others too much and I welcome the opportunity to get to hear some Good News before I go into surgery. Any ideas on how to handle this?? Thanks Amy

Girlfriend..anytime we think we should skip going to church we need to remember that the enemy of our soul would like nothing better than to stop us from hearng the Word of God and being in fellowship with other beleivers. Your Pastor would not think anything of the kind about you...for one thing...his mind is on the Word and sheep and not on petty things. You go and be encouraged and blessed. And if the Lord wants you to speak to him to let him know about the change in surgery date I am sure you two will meet up...even with 600 people there. Let the Lord bless and remember He deserves our blessing and praise also and with you missing...that is one more that isn't there praising His Holy Name...love ya and pray that the Lord continues to make the crooked ways straight for you and your surgery. Amy, I agree with Joan. This is just the enemy preying on your mind and emotion....he is infecting your thoughts with all the negative reasons for not attending this study. This is proof that God has something very special planned for you from this study. Did you ever stop to think that maybe it was of Divine design that your surgery was postponed so you wouldn't have to miss a particular class? One that you particularly have need of? Believe that this Divine Detour can only be for the greater Yes that He has planned for your life.

Silly girl! Of course you should go to church. I agree with Joan 100%. As for the Pastor, he will probably think he messed up on the date and I would send him a quick email or voice mail just so he can be praying for your surgery on the correct date. Love - Sally

I whole heartedly agree with all the others. Don't let Satan try to steer you off course. Go to church and be renewed with His Holy Word. You'll be so glad you did. Karen
