Final details... Missing fellowship ... just a few thoughts
Hi all-I'm getting close-I will be leaving on Wed to make my way to Chicago from MO. I have to take my kids to my BIL's house first and then hubby and I are on our way. I have an appt with my PCP tomorrow though for some reason known only to her and to a doctor in Chicago I have never heard of nor talked with. I do get a bit frustrated because there is no communication between the doctors and I have to call them all to relate messages. I also have to get my PCP to fax a note tomorrow saying they are treating my thyroid problem. The good news is that with all the last minute details, I havent had time to worry. I am on a very restricted diet which I have fallen off of a bit today, but nothing major.
I miss going to church so much. I usually attend 4 services a week + an extra meeting and I have been either gone or ill for 2 weeks already and will not be able to go back for at least 3 more weeks. I know God is with me always and I try to pray and read the Word every day. I just miss being around others who also love Jesus. My husband does not go to church so it is really hard.
Anyway- I prob will not be posting for a few weeks because I will be in Chicago. God bless all of you and I will see you post-op. hugs-Amy
Amy...no matter where you go the Lord is there and will comfort you and bring back to your remembrance the Scripture you have hidden in your heart. Do you have access to the internet there in Chicago? Our Pastor's messages can be found (as well as mine and our Pastor's wife) on our web page (calvarychapelcolumbia.com)
I know the Lord will be your ever present help in time of need and I am praying that His will be done in spite of the doctors and the last minute changes...if He aloows it it is for a purpose so rest in Him and if it is not of Him He will make the crooked paths straight.
Love ya and will be waiting for update. I will also pray for your husband....
Love in Him,
Joan M
Hi Amy,
I understand that missing church stuff. I work every other weekend and do not get to church as much as I would like. I download Dr. Stanley's messages from iTunes and either burn them on CDs or to my iPod and listen to them. It helps fill the gap. Most importantly, I stay in the Word, and fill myself with it.
Take some praise music with you to Chicago and listen to it on a CD player. That is what I did in the hospital. It really blessed me.
Praying for you. Jesus is with you. Read Psalm 139, and confirm that truth in your heart.
Hugs,
Trish
I have my ipod full of contemporary christian music as well as traditional hymns and country gospel. God speaks to different people in different ways and i find that I feel close to Him through music.
Thank you for alerting me to Psalm 139. I hadnt realized it was so uplifting until you mentioned it one day. Now I have read it in every version I can find and it gives me comfort each time I read it.
I watch some ministers on TV some days, and it does help-I just love talking to and hanging out with others that love God.
That's one reason I am so grateful I found all of you!!
Hugs-Amy
