I am so glad that i found this forum...(with the help of an angel-thanks trish!) I know that there is power in prayer and I need all the prayer warriors to help me...my husband is a full blown addict and is waiting a surgery date for WLS...things were getting better up until about Feb. and now the drug addiction is out of control. I have been praying for guidance in my situation and for my husbands struggle with drugs, and our marriage. His mother and myself are going to try and stop the surgery, I know that is not an option at this point. Thank you all for keeping us in your prayers!

Deidre - I'm praying for you - for the Lord to give you His perfect strength, wisdom and love. I prayed for my husband for years and my final prayers were - Lord, do whatever it takes! Please, don't let anyone else get hurt when he hits bottom. God heard that prayer and after a season, gave my husband a beautiful wake up call. The "wake up call" was difficult to get through - but hardly so because WE went through it with God. My husband recommitted himself to the Lord and it's been about 15 months of goodness given by God. He has restored what the locusts had taken! Don't give up on God! I pray that the Lord will bless you at this time! ~Carolyn

Amazing story. My husband too was a drug addict, for about 35 years. Our pastor prayed that, "Whatever it takes, Lord," prayer -- LOL -- and oh boy it took a lot. Mark was in a near fatal car accident (no one else was hurt). He truly should have died, and he knew it. He kicked drugs after that and has been clean for 2 years. We still have a LOT of struggles, but the power of prayer is definitely there. I was about to write a thank you here myself for those who prayed about my fantasy problem, and to let you all know it worked. My mind has quit (for now) with the fantasies. They've just been supernaturally removed. And today I asked my husband if we could do something alone this weekend, like coffee and a walk. I haven't done that in years -- I honestly know it's been at least 7 years since I've taken a single step toward him like that. You girls are prayer warriors, and I am grateful.

I think it is great that you expressed to your husband your desire to spend time with him. That is a great move forward, away from the temptation and towards a healthy marriage. I pray that God blesses you in this. Hugs, Trish

My son is an addict and I prayed that prayer for him as well. It took him getting thrown out of my house, his father's house, and two recovery houses before he began to see things clearly. It was only after his sister took him to live with her in Michigan, 12 hours from here, that he began to get his focus on his life. He is now living in Pittsburgh, and working a good job. I will definitely pray for your husband and your marriage. Hugs, Trish

For all of you who have struggled with addiction, or have a loved one struggling with addiction, I strongly recommend the Rich Warren "Celebrate Recovery" series. I attend a CR group every Thursday night and boy what a difference it makes in my life. And I love that someone here quoted Joel 2:25 - "I will repay you for the years that locusts have eaten". I cling to this verse when ever I find myself in trouble. It goes on to say in the 26th verse that "you will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord you God , who has worked wonders for you, never again will my people be shamed." Bless all of you this day and my you all praise the name of the Lord. Our God is an Awesome God!
