Amazing - the Lord is! Our visit from a Masai chief...

Hi - I wanted to take a moment to tell you all a great little story. Sunday night at our house, our home fellowship, we had a couple of visitors from the Masai tribe in Africa. For those who do not know, the Masai are the most fierce people! They kill without a thought. Their culture is that if they want that cow, it's no problem to kill the owner, and take the cow. There is no thought to the value of human life, except their own and their needs. Sunday night, we had this gentleman (who is now GENTLE!) come to our home. He is a chief in the Masai tribe in Kenya. He showed us his scars from fighting a lion as each boy does when he enters man-hood. Then he told us the story of being drunk and meeting some Christians in their truck, and how he gave them one of his sheep - he thought later - I gave? I don't give, I take. But the word of God was planted in his heart that day! This is amazing! He was clearly a strong and fierce man, who now, the Lord is using to His glory! Kenya is 88% Christian, but the government recently gave grants to the muslims - who are committed to taking the Christians out. Please pray for Kenya! Please pray for my new friend "Senior Chairman Solomon" and his friend, Pastor Simon. When they left our house, Senior Chairman prayed over my husband, our home and our children. Then he took off one of his necklaces, and put it on me. He took my hand and pressed it to his cheek! It was an incredible experience. There is a picture in my profile of me with him if you want to see... Anyway, I wanted to share and remind us all that we have brothers all over the world who need our prayers!!! Praise the Lord! - Carolyn

What a neat story about God's power to save and redeem! Thanks for sharing that Caryolyn. What a nice memory for you too and a great gift to treasure (the story, necklace and new friendships). By the way...you look amazing! Congrats on your weight loss! Hugs, Robin

Is this the tribe that killed Jim Elliot? God is amazing and I know personally..I was as bad as that man in Africa..not I didn't personally kill anyone but my heart held hate in it and anger which is the same to the Lord. And He saved me so no one is impossible to God.... What a blessing you had at your home fellowship. Maybe the walls will come down for the girls....love you...Joan

I believe Jim Elliott was killed in South America, not Africa. God is awesome in how He transforms lives. Hugs, Trish

Thanks! It was a time I'll never forget and has furthered the burden on my heart to pray for the people of Africa! I would really love to go there someday! God bless you all! - Carolyn

Hey Carolyn, that was an amazing story. I am sure it just fills your heart with joy. How are you doing otherwise? I am so afraid I hurt you. In Christ, Kim M.

Hi Kim - You know, it's weird because I know that on the main message board there is a place to click the "notify me when someone replies..." - but I'll tell you, it's not here. When I posted this story, I looked for where I had gone wrong with the other post (that I had Amy pull just to be safe), and it was nowhere. So, oh well. No worries! You and everyone else *****plied were doing so out of love, and you know that the Lord would wrap those things and protect that caring and not let it be used for evil. I'm doing ok. We're still deeply considering alternatives and ways to be effective parents (I'm being vague on purpose, but you know what I mean). The Lord is here with me and He is directing my path. Thank you so much for caring! It really means a lot to me. We have a wonderful little community here! Take care! - love, Carolyn
